BARBARITO CARLOS

CARLOS BARBARITO (1955)

Carlos was born ,in Pergamino, Argentina in 1955, and as an ex-editor, now a librarian in San Miguel, Buenos Aires. His first published poetry was in 1984 and he has now a total of 13 collections, with more in preparation. His principal works are: "Teatro de lirios" ("Theatre of lilies"), "Éxodos y trenes" ("Exodus and trains"), "Bestiario de amor" ("Bestiary of love"), "Viga bajo el agua" ("Girder under the water"), and "La luz y alguna cosa" ("The light and something else"). In addition he has published essays and in 2001 "Dialogues with Roberto Aizenberg". He has won several prizes for his poetry, including those of the Fundación Alejandro González Gattone and the Fondo Crítica de Arte Jorge Feinsilber. His poems, essays and articles have appeared in many publications and websites in South America, the USA, Spain and the UK, and in several anthologies. In 1991 some of his poems were translated into English and published in an anthology "Four Argentine Poets".
