My being and your being are the world.
And here we are: things around us:
towels and tufts of hair,
finger nail scratches on the window panes, a lamp that

sways,
news of flocks of birds on remote cupolas.
Stones that don´t shout when the prophets are silent
or howl like wolves at the break of dawn.
Cellars where weariness spreads its tablecloths
and the fish lose their way
among umbrellas, plaster figures, portraits.
This is not the sea, not at all:
morning surprises us gnawing at door bolts,
iron beams, griefs like mountains.
And yet, otherwise it would be hell.
