CRITICA D'ARTE L'ho visto il quadro...: è bello, è sorprendente! Che gagliardo color, che forma pura!... Però nel fondo non capisco niente, e l'argomento mi mette paura. La barba del pontefice Clemente, ditelo voi, non vi par troppo oscura?... E quella faccia di donna languente è tipo superiore alla natura! Poi c'è quel dito, ahimè! del cardinale, che pecca assai nella sinistra parte; sono inezie, lo so, ma piano piano si sdrucciola nel falso e nel balzano! Ah, in questa Italia benedetta, l'arte ahimè va male, ahimè va mal, va male! ...
